Education & Outreach Manager
Nina is a certified Environmental Educator with experiences in marine science education, outreach, volunteer management, and restoration. Nina grew up in coastal Rhode Island where she kindled a passion for protecting marine environments. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in 2015 with a B.S in Environmental Science and a double minor in Biology and Geospatial Technologies.
Nina discovered her love for combining science with education. She has taught over 3,500 students from diverse backgrounds in coastal North Carolina, coastal Rhode Island, and the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Nina previously served two AmeriCorps terms as the Coastal Community Engagement Specialist with a non-profit. She concentrated her efforts on making marine science education more accessible to underserved audiences by developing new curricula, building partnerships, and implementing education programs. She also gained rich and unique experiences restoring salt marshes, monitoring oyster reefs, and maintaining stormwater mitigation projects.
She recently worked as the Education Assistant at the Narragansett Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve on Prudence Island in Rhode Island. Here she developed programs focused on marine biology and environmental stewardship.
Nina is looking forward to working with various maritime companies to develop marine environment corporate outreach programs.
